SUMMARY
Marine limestones divide the Dinantian Middle Limestone Group in the Northumbrian basin into a number of coarsening and shallowing-upwards siliciclastic sequences that are considered to have been deposited in a deltaic setting. Detailed facies analysis reveals that the delta fronts were dominated by storm and wave processes, and that tidal distributary channels occurred.
